A Child’s Carol
As a young pre-teen, I ‘invented’ on the piano a series of harmonies that I liked, and played them over and over for days if not weeks. Later, I composed a melody to these harmonies, and so created the Child’s Carol. It has evolved from them into arrangements which are both sweet and tender, to more symphonic. Make Me a Channel of Thy Peace
was written just as Barak Obama was elected President of the United States. This multi-layered work, with its richness of origins and the eloquent message of peace, seemed somehow to meld with the spirit of hope that President Obama would bring not just to his country, but to the world, and so is dedicated to this man of great promise.
